If you are a contractor, plumber, carpenter, or electrician who works on homes constructed before 1978, certification is required in order to follow EPA’s Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Rule.
ABLE Safety Consulting provides both Lead RRP initial and refresher training courses that certify you. EPA lead certification training will guide and teach you how to protect yourself and others from the potential risks of lead paint and lead dust.
As of April 22, 2010, federal law requires that contractors working on renovation, repair, and painting projects that disturb over 6 square feet of paint in houses ,and/or any facilities involving children constructed before 1978 be trained and certified to comply with specific work practices to avoid lead contamination.
